Since GP Posting Server uses Microsoft Dynamics GP’s native Master Posting Routine, any transaction that can be posted in Master Posting can be posted by GP Posting Server.

Not necessarily. You may setup your posting reports to print to file in Microsoft Dynamics GP Posting Options. That way, GP Posting Server won’t be prompted by the “print to” dialog and continue posting all transactions on queue fully automated. The reports are saved so that they can be printed for later.

Yes. Although it is recommended that a dedicated machine run GP Posting Server, you could simply stop the polling routine and use Microsoft Dynamics GP for other purposes. You can start the polling routine once you are finished.

Posting status is displayed in the GP Posting Server Polling window. You will be able to monitor whether your batches post successfully or have failed. Furthermore, GP Posting Server has an emailer feature that you may setup to send notification emails to an administrator whenever a batch failed to post. So you can even monitor failed batches remotely.

No. GP Posting Server comes with a Batch Post Reset tool. After failed batches have been fixed, you can use the Batch Post Reset tool to reinsert and effectively re-queue the batch in GP Posting Server.

One of the most common steps overlooked during GP Posting Server setup is security. Check the security for the current user and company running GP Posting Server under Product: GP Posting Server; Type: Alternate Dynamics GP windows; Series: Company. The Master Posting routine should be marked.

Checking of batches that are available for posting occurs as low as every 1 minute depending on the frequency defined in GP Posting Server. Available batches to be posted are put in a posting polling queue and posted in a sequential manner.

Yes, posting happens across all GP companies relying on the Posting Rules defined in GP Posting Server. It toggles between companies when one GP instance is running.  It can also post on multiple GP instances with each company logged in.

GP Posting Server can schedule the posting procedure on a scheduled basis.  You can also specify which batch criteria can run on a scheduled basis or be processed immediately.
Yes.  Batches that are captured and placed to the posting queue are those that satisfy the batch rule IDs.  You can set the conditions of a batch rule ID based on a specific Series, Batch Source Batch ID, etc, and to which company the batch rule ID apply.

GP Posting Server requires for GP to be open and a GP user ID to be logged in therefore consumes the concurrent GP user license as it is not run as a windows service. 

As GP Posting Server is not a windows service, setting it to run automatically when the host computer starts do not directly apply.  However, a workaround can be configured by setting up a macro to log in to GP and activate the GP Posting Server.  You can setup to run this macro via Task Scheduler and triggered it when the domain user is logged in to the computer.
