Item Replacement During Fulfillment
Sales Order Fulfillment window available in Dynamics GP does not allow substituting item when fulfilling quantities. Our client requested a function where items on the order could be replaced during packing and fulfillment incase they were backordered or discontinued. Opening and updating Sales Order and re-printing packing slip was not feasible due to high volume. Client also wanted to track which user made the replacement.
The Sales Order Fulfillment window was modified to allow users to replace items on the order. Item Replacement window was added which provided lookup for items available for replacement. Substitution items can be configured in GP Item Maintenance Options window, or user can select from all items in the inventory.
Employee ID (Badge) field was added to track which user was packing the order. This was in addition to "Fulfilled by" user that defaults to GP user currently logged into the system.
Sales Order Fulfillment window also requires user to first scan the barcode on their Employee Badge which filled in Employee Badge field before letting them edit the quantities being fulfilled or substitute any items.
