Customized Order Entry
Challenge:
The client had a very large number of customers, high sales volume (1-2,000 orders per day) and a unique system for bundling product promotions in extended kits. Order are received from a website, mail and phone and many payments are via credit card. The original GP system was not able to handle this and much work was still being done on paper.
Solution:
A Module was developed to define product promotions and the rules by which their components could be selected. Special search windows were developed to accelerate customer selection and product selection (replacing a 150 page catalog). The Order Entry window was modified to enable all Order-related data to be seen on one screen without drill downs and a new panel was added to enable promotional products to be selected and view in detail. The system was integrated with their shopping cart and a payment gateway. Overall productivity increased by 100% within weeks of rolling out the system.
