XENPAK-10GB-LR Cisco Compatible Transceiver Supports 10GBASE Ethernet

Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released a fully Cisco compatible transceiver designed for single mode fiber (SMF). This transceiver supports a link length of 10 kilometers on standard single mode fiber. It is a hot-swappable input/output device to be plugged into an Ethernet XENPAK port of a Cisco switch or router to link the port with the network.
This XENPAK-10GB-LR Cisco compatible transceiver offers a wide variety of 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options for data center, enterprise wiring closet and service provider transport applications. It provides great flexibility of interface choice. The advanced transceiver allows for real-time access to the transceiver operating parameters such as transceiver temperature, laser bias current, transmitted optical power and received optical power and transceiver supply voltage. According to the IEEE802.3ae standard, the minimum cabling distance for optical XENPAK modules is 2m.
