SFP-GE-L Cisco Compatible Hot Pluggable Transceivers

GAO Fiber Optics

Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has announced the release of its SFP-GE-L Cisco compatible transceivers which support Ethernet, Sonet/SDH and Fiber Channel applications across all Cisco switching and routing platforms. These hot pluggable transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for use in data centers, campuses, metropolitan area access and ring networks and storage area networks. The 1000Base-LX SFP is a hot swappable input/output device that plugs into a Gigabit Ethernet port/slot, linking the port with the fiber-optic network.
These transceivers are compliant with the IEEE 802.3z 1000BaseLX standard, operates on standard single-mode fiber-optic link spans of up to 10km versus the 5km specified in the standard and up to 550m on any multimode fibers. The wide range of SFP-based systems covers powerful features for physical network connectivity, including media converters, distance extenders, cross-connect, Ethernet switching and routing equipment and wave division multiplexing solutions. SFPs can be used and interchanged on a wide variety of Cisco products and can be intermixed in combinations of IEEE 802.3z- compliant 1000BaseSX, 1000BaseLX/LH, or 1000BaseZX interfaces on a port-by-port basis.
