  RFID Reader Module Provides Several RFID Coding Options

Toronto. Canada – GAO Embedded (www.GAOEmbedded.com) has rolled out a 125kHz RFID reader module that provides several RFID coding options. The module is designed to be a direct replacement for Magnetic Strip Reader Modules to convert existing applications and hardware to RFID technology. It allows existing installations to retain most of their hardware infrastructure and change to more secured RFID technology. The reader module uses MSR ABA Track 2 as the communications interface and has CE and FCC technical certificates. It supports read/write distances of up to 80mm with ISO cards under ideal conditions. This module consumes little power and boasts a built-in antenna. EM compatible transponders are available for use with the module. The tag is encapsulated within an ABS case to withstand harsh industrial environments. A high frequency version of this model is also available.
