Perry Keller

Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) provides its 3Com compatible 1000Base-T SFP transceivers, which are hot-pluggable I/O devices that plug into module sockets. The SFP transceivers are designed for 10 Gigabit per second SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel, gigabit Ethernet, 10 gigabit Ethernet and other applications such as DWDM links. They can be used in conjunction with any GBIC module supported by 3Com devices. The transceivers are fully compatible with original 3Com transceivers.

The transceivers, model 3CSFP93, operate at a maximum length of 100 meters for 1000Base-T SFP module copper connections. Each transceiver connects the electrical circuitry of the module with optical or copper network and supports connection with patch cords with PC or UPC connectors. The wide range of SFP-based systems offer powerful features for physical network connectivity, including media converters, distance extenders, cross-connect, Ethernet switching and routing equipment, and wave division multiplexing solutions. The transceiver also can be easily removed from the host device.
