Optical Light Source Offers Switchable Modulation Frequencies

Perry Keller

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) has announced the availability of its compact optical light source which is an ideal solution for fiber optic networks especially when used together with GAO’s optical power meter: LP-216. This optical light source is able to simulate various conditions in the manufacture, testing and maintenance of passive optical components. It is used for the maintenance of telecom, CATV, fiber optic test labs, and generic cabling systems (GCS).
This easy-to-use optical light source, model LP-226, provides two to four output wavelengths at a highly stable output power; the output stability is ±0.05dB/15mins and ±0.1dB/8h. The output wavelengths are 650nm red source, 1310/1550nm wavelength for single mode fiber and 850/1300nm wavelength for multimode fiber. This lightweight light source provides FC/PC optical connector; FC, SC and ST connectors are optional. It also offers switchable modulation frequencies including CW, 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. In addition, the compact light source boasts a FP-LD emitter and a large LCD screen.
