MXH and MXU Antenna Multiplexers Turn up

Perry Keller

Toronto, Canada – GAO Embedded (www.GAOEmbedded.com) has rolled out its MXH and MXU antenna multiplexers which enables multiple antenna inputs at multiple read points to be integrated and read by a single RFID reader thus minimizing the number of readers deployed when multiple read-points are required and saving on infrastructure investment for the user.
The MXH antenna multiplexer and the MXU antenna multiplexer, model 733001, operate at different frequencies of 13.56MHz (HF) and 860 to 960MHz (UHF) respectively. Each are equipped with either 4 or 8 antenna ports so as to expand a reader’s capability according to specific requirements of an application. Each multiplexer is controlled by either a host processor or a reader module, which allows any of the four or eight antennas to be addressed explicitly using three GPIO pins. Further scalability can be achieved by adding additional multiplexers so that a reader module can support more than eight antennas.
