It measures the physical characteristics of optical fiber including length, transmission loss and splice loss,as well locates the faults or breaks of optical fiber.The compact OTDR can be employed in the manufacture,construction and maintenance of optical fiber communication systems.
This handheld optical time-domain reflectometer, model 6416, offers four optional wavelengths containing 1310nm, 1550nm, 1625nm and 1490nm and provides visual fault location for testing passive optical networks (PON) in FTTx. It features an extremely short event dead zone;a clear, bright, anti-reflective TFT LCD; fast auto measurements and simple operation.The rugged OTDR provides dual communication ports to support both USB and direct cable download to a PC via ActiveSync. It offers a long operating time when fully charged and provides a low battery indication. All these capabilities make the OTDR an invaluable tool for the on-spot measurements.
