This is one of the most beautiful villages on the lake Seliger or Ozero Seliger. You can reach it by car driving Moscow St. Petersburg highway and in Tver change direction to Torzhok, Ostashkov. You will be driving Kuvshinovo - Ostashkov - Volgoverkhovye scenic drive about 150 kilometers
In ancient and medieval times the territory of Lake Seliger was a border between Novgorod republic, Rzech Pospolitaya or Lithuania and Moscow Russia
