Microsoft Dynamics GP Great Plains is MS SQL Server 2005 application, current version in 10.0. Since version 8.0 Microsoft Dynamics GP supports only SQL Server. This fact opens wide development horizons for eCommerce Microsoft Visual Studio.Net C# and VB developers. Also GP has eConnect tool, specially designated for eCommerce development – it allows you to program master records: account, customer, vendor, employee and work transactions: Sales Order, Invoice, GL Transaction, Purchase Order, etc. Let’s come through some technical highlights:
2. Posting Great Plains
Batches from eCommerce application. If your ecommerce site is completely
automated and all the company does is ships placed and paid customer
orders, then you need to post GP SOP batches from eCommerce
automatically. eConnect doesn’t have posting functionality and it should
not, as it works in GP architecture design, where posting is left to GP
operators
3. Albaspectrum Posting
Server. This is Dexterity custom application, which launches GP
Dexterity original posting engine to post approved batches – batches are
“approved” by eCommerce application, which places them into approved
batches custom table. As eCommerce programmer, you will need to place
approved batches into the above table and the rest is in hands of
autoposting server |
