BUSH: ‘FREEDOM’S VICTORY’  J. Grant Swank, Jr.

While Democrats have no plan for anything worthy, the US President George W. Bush continues with freedom spreads wherever possible. That may seem humdrum to some, but to the liberated it equals freedoms brought to real-life in real-time, no matter the sacrifice.

“In this new century, freedom is once again assaulted by enemies determined to roll back generations of democratic progress. Once again, we're responding to a global campaign of fear with a global campaign of freedom. And once again, we will see freedom's victory.” Mr. Bush was speaking to the National Endowment for Democracy at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Washington, DC.

We have been talking about being in a global community now for some years. That involves not only the pleasures but also the plights of such closeness. Mr. Bush accents both. The pleasures include sharing democracy lifestyles with others. The plight confronts those Muslim murderers global who want blood running in the streets.
>
Add to that plight those political liberals who side with the Islamic killers international. Every time a Democrat cuts through the President’s freedom agenda, that aids the enemy. Every time another nation’s leader mocks the President’s freedom sharing, that aids the enemy. Every time a Cindy Sheehan grabs the media microphones for self-advantage, that aids the enemy.

In turn, aiding the enemy undercuts the US troops serving in such places as Iraq and Afghanistan. Aiding the enemy also threatens our own American freedoms for once the enemy concludes that we house enough enemy clones in our own country, they will seek to take over. That’s why the Muslim sleeper cells are everywhere throughout the United States.

Yet the pleasures of sharing democracy wherever possible is worth the trials. There is nothing more fulfilling than giving away to someone else what one enjoys. Every day we in the United States wake up to free air. Surely our existence on this planet is not solely to take that privilege to ourselves without reaching out to others less fortunate. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Those in a democracy have no greater gift than to present to another the gift of free air — every morning. Of course, it takes time to plant a democracy. Of course, it takes patience to watch that plant grow. Of course, someone has to work and at times lay down a life in order to see such a precious offering set in place where previously only a despot’s heel crushed human flesh.

But Mr. Bush encourages us to carry on. And for that he will be known as the Freedom President. The future will prove that to be true.

It does not matter what the polls say this very day. Mr. Bush knows that. Freedom endorsers know that, too. Some things are worth waiting for, nurturing and seeing accomplished in the years, not only the days, weeks and months.

Therefore, Mr. Bush and those of like faith stay the course, no matter the flack from the US Democrats and political liberals elsewhere. They are enclosed in their self-contained spheres. They are preening their own backyards. The rest of us are seeking chances to give away liberties enjoyed here at home.

“Recently our country observed the fourth anniversary of a great evil, and looked back on a great turning point in our history. We still remember a proud city covered in smoke and ashes, a fire across the Potomac, and passengers who spent their final moments on Earth fighting the enemy.

“We still remember the men who rejoiced in every death, and Americans in uniform rising to duty. And we remember the calling that came to us on that day, and continues to this hour: We will confront this mortal danger to all humanity. We will not tire, or rest, until the war on terror is won.”

Both Mr. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have cautioned thinkers that the battle against Muslim killers will take decades. The reason? Because the Koran-enthusiasts say to one another: “As long as those freedom lovers continue to spread their liberties, we will spill blood.”

These are crazed fanatics. They are not disciples of a religion. They are zealots of a killing cult. These heartless slayers are all over the world, slipping in their sleeper cells, crafting their 4000 web sites and setting up their mosques with cleric instructors teaching the next generation how to kill the non-Muslims.

Then this war against the insane and uncivilized won’t be over in a year or two. It will go on as long as the Allah-worshipers bring out their swords, as long as they teach their boys and girls how to hatchet another human being into the earth.

“They hit us, and expect us to run. They want us to repeat the sad history of Beirut in 1983, and Mogadishu in 1993 -- only this time on a larger scale, with greater consequences,” Mr. Bush stated.

However, those realists true to freedoms won’t run. If they did, Islamic killers international would swoop over every democracy on the planet. It would not only be New Iraq in trouble, every liberty-based nation would be in trouble. That is why the political liberals such as Cindy Sheehan cannot be heeded. If one were to follow through with their agendas, all free peoples would be done in in a very short time.

That is why if a Democrat were in the Oval Office, US troops could not be brought back to America en masse. If a Democrat did that, the scenario of freedom nations overcome by Muslim killers would take place globally.

If Hillary Clinton were elected President, she could not bring home the troops or call off Operation Iraqi Freedom. She would have to see through the same course that Mr. Bush is seeing through. The alternative would be blood baths in our streets and throughout the democracies of the world.

“The militants believe that controlling one country will rally the Muslim masses, enabling them to overthrow all moderate governments in the region, and establish a radical Islamic empire that spans from Spain to Indonesia.

“With greater economic and military and political power, the terrorists would be able to advance their stated agenda: to develop weapons of mass destruction, to destroy Israel, to intimidate Europe, to assault the American people, and to blackmail our government into isolation,” Mr. Bush elaborated.

When dealing with Islamic extremists, then the modus operandi for planting freedoms and protecting democracies already in place must be extreme. Moderate measures will only bait the enemy to take us over. We must be utterly extreme in our loyalty to the right, the strong and the free. Anything else will spell weakness on our part, thus taken as surrender by Islamic slayers.

“The civilized world knows very well that other fanatics in history, from Hitler to Stalin to Pol Pot, consumed whole nations in war and genocide before leaving the stage of history. Evil men, obsessed with ambition and unburdened by conscience, must be taken very seriously -- and we must stop them before their crimes can multiply.”

The weakness of a Ted Kennedy or Nancy Pelosi is that they are not truly realistic enough to understand the decades-long threat upon us. They are still playing political games of opportunism in front of media cameras. They have yet to put their feet down firmly on the awesome foe set on doing freedom in everywhere.

It is the Bush administration that is totally committed to the real, the actual, the depths that confront us. Indeed, the truth is that we are already in World War III. Those who deny that are idealists of the most dangerous kind. The Bush team knows this as fact.

“The murderous ideology of the Islamic radicals is the great challenge of our new century,” Mr. Bush said. “We didn't ask for this global struggle, but we're answering history's call with confidence, and a comprehensive strategy.

“With the rise of a deadly enemy and the unfolding of a global ideological struggle, our time in history will be remembered for new challenges and unprecedented dangers. And yet the fight we have joined is also the current expression of an ancient struggle, between those who put their faith in dictators, and those who put their faith in the people.

“Throughout history, tyrants and would-be tyrants have always claimed that murder is justified to serve their grand vision -- and they end up alienating decent people across the globe.

“Tyrants and would-be tyrants have always claimed that regimented societies are strong and pure -- until those societies collapse in corruption and decay.

“Tyrants and would-be tyrants have always claimed that free men and women are weak and decadent -- until the day that free men and women defeat them.

“We don't know the course of our own struggle -- the course our own struggle will take -- or the sacrifices that might lie ahead. We do know, however, that the defense of freedom is worth our sacrifice. We do know the love of freedom is the mightiest force of history.

“And we do know the cause of freedom will once again prevail.”
