GOLD STAR FAMILIES CHEER US TROOPS IN IRAQ J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Countering anti-New Iraq ranters were the patriots who embraced one another while cheering on servicemembers in New Iraq and Afghanistan.

"’We support our troops,’ said rally organizer Kristinn Taylor. ‘We love them and we support their mission.’" So it was these freedom enthusiasts gathered in Washington DC, giving the rightful presence for America planting democracies abroad.

"’We know that what they are doing is just and noble,’ Taylor added. ‘We remember what happened on Sept. 11. We know that it's because of the sacrifices that they are making day in and day out, night and day, that we have not had another terrorist attack on our soil.’"

Sacrifice.

That is one word that political liberals do not understand, nor do they want to understand it. They are the ironies of our times. They daily enjoy liberties unequaled anywhere in the world. Yet they deny those same liberty opportunities to others, especially when it may involve sacrifice.

Further, they negate our nation’s historical past laden with sacrifices in order for American citizens to breathe in freedom’s air each day. It took sacrifice on behalf of scores of persons determined to keep this country strong and safe. Yet the liberals are in purposeful denial concerning all of that.

"’Keep doing what you're doing,’ agreed Kevin Bush of Reston, Va. ‘We all love you; we all support you; and it's worth it.’" These cheers went up loudly and clearly, according to Petty Officer 3rd Class John R. Guardiano, USN

In other words, the sane and intelligent continue to see the purpose of American troops in far away places where those previously held captive by despots have now a new chance on life — actual life and not mere existence on a bloody planet. It is remarkable.

Further, it is all because of the US President George W. Bush seeing Operation Iraqi Freedom into fruition. Along with that liberation — not colonization — is the Afghan release from Taliban slaughter house schemes.

No other most-powerful-nation in the world leader has stayed on course for others’ good like Mr. Bush. Yet he has been derided by the US Democrats and various freedom-based national leaders elsewhere. Even some within his own party have played the betrayer. However, thoughtful and sharing Americans have stayed alongside the Chief Executive in maintaining the establishment of freedoms in some of the most dangerous geographies.

Jan Bush of south New Jersey said to the troops: ‘Hi, guys! Don't give up. We're with you; we're backing you; and we know that you're going to succeed.’"

"’How could you not be here?’ asked Ann Baish of McLean, Va, as she fought back tears. ‘They're our troops. And we need to stand by them and let them know over there how much we do support them. ... There are just so many Americans that are proud of our troops and we just came out because we want them to know it.’"

With that the Cindy Sheehans continued to show their ignorance, embracing the Muslim murderers global by shouting for their side to win. That is what would happen if our troops pulled out of the New Iraq. Not only would that country be engulfed by Allah’s slaying crew but every democracy on the planet would be endangered. Why? Because Islamic killers international have one aim — to make Islam the globe’s rule. They will sacrifice their lives to see it through. Why then cannot patriots for freedom sacrifice their lives to keep them at bay?

Cindy Sheehan and team say “sacrifice” is a bad word. It cannot be permitted in an American’s lexicon. Only freedom enjoyed but not shared must be the American creed from here on out. If that ever is the case, there will be no American to recite the liberals’ mantra.

“’Overall, Americans support our troops no matter what,’ said John Wroblewski, whose son, Marine Corps Lt. John Thomas Wroblewski, died in Ramadi, Iraq, April 6, 2004.”
