John & Becky's Movie Review Of "The Forgotten"  Becky and I saw the new thriller "The Forgotten" on Friday. The official SONY website for "The Forgotten" can be viewed at http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/theforgotten/ and has the preview about the film.

The IMDb website can be found at the following link - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356618/
and describes the story as follows:

The Story
A grieving mother, Telly Paretta, is struggling to cope with the loss of her 8-year-old son. She is stunned when her psychiatrist tells her that she has created eight years of memories of a son she never had. But when she meets a friend who has a similar experience, Telly embarks on a mission to prove her son's existence and her sanity.

The Review
"The Forgotten” is a goofy psychological thriller that has enough twists and turns that it's a really fun movie. Becky commented that it's probably not a good movie for heart patients. The film has several parts in it that will have you jump right out of your seat. Kind of like that movie "The Ring" where that dead girl comes out of the movie screen. Although, that movie was spooky where the parts in this movie are just shocking.

It reminded me of an X-File television show since it starts out with one premise and takes you in a totally different direction by the end of the film. It's not scary, but freaky and like an X-File the premise is completely ridiculous. After all, it's a science fiction thriller.

Telly Paretta (Julianne Moore) is a Mom who has lost a child in a plane crash and is visiting a psychiatrist Dr. Jack Munce (Gary Sinise) about her problem of being unable to put the past behind her and move on. Her husband thinks she's crazy and she thinks her husband is changing pictures and erasing videotapes of their son. The psychiatrist tells her that she has made everything up in her mind and never had a child. That's all I'm going to tell you about the story because it gets wild from there.

The acting in the movie is good and Julianne Moore fans should like her in this role. The story kept your interest from start to finish although many people will find it too far fetched for their liking. However, at least it doesn't disappoint you at the end like that hyped thriller "The Village" earlier this year. Becky and I both liked it. If you're an X-Files fan I would rate it as a "Don't Miss It", otherwise it's "Worth The Trip".

Becky's Rating: *** Worth The Trip
John's Rating: *** Worth The Trip
