A Disturbing Trend Maybe it's a rather nasty day outside, maybe you just are bored. You get in the car and drive to your local theatre to see a movie. I like movies. They're a great way to escape the day's problems for a couple of hours. Unfortunately there is a disurbing trend in film making today. Others will tell you this rend is sex or violence in our films today but the fact is you do not have to buy a ticket or the DVD. I'm talking about commercial advertisement in films.
You know what I'm talking about. you get your popcorn and settler in your theatre seat or slip the DVD or video in the machine anticipating the start of your flick and you get the privilige of sitting through ten or fifteen minutes of commercials. Yes, you heard me commercials. I'm not talking about the previews although to be honest I don't care just yet what is coming to a theatre near me in 2007.
> If I'm going to spend twenty bucks in a theatre or on a dvd I would greatly appreciate not seeing commercials. If I want to watch commercials I'll turn the television on. Yes the studios have to make money but tempered with that is the fact that we are the consumer of their product and I, for one, don't want to see ads for soda or sneakers while I'm waiting to be entertained. I want my two and a half hours of escapeism. It's time to tell the studios enough is enough.
