John & Becky's Movie Review Of "Cellular"  Becky and I saw "Cellular" last weekend and we were on the edge of our seat. The official "Cellular" website can be viewed at http://www.cellularthemovie.com/ and has more details about the film, but moves slower than the movie.

The Fandango website can be viewed at http://www.fandango.com/movie_page.asp?mv=86059&source=tbo_l
and describes the story as follows:

The Story
A man hears the voice of a kidnapped woman on his cell phone, and attempts to locate her before his cell phone runs dead.

The Review
Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger) is a high school science teacher who is kidnapped within the first few minutes of the movie. Thugs break into her home, kill her maid and take her captive where she is brought to an unknown location and locked in the attic. Are they drug dealers, is her husband in to deep with a gambling addiction, the answer will surprise you.
>
After being manhandled by one of her kidnappers, she manages to reassemble a smashed telephone and accidentally places a call to the cell phone of Ryan (Chris Evans) who doesn't believe her story. When he hears one of the kidnappers threatening her life, he realizes that this is really a life or death situation and his involvement escalates. She convinces him to take his cell phone to the police, but nobody is buying his story at the police station. It is up to Ryan to save the day and prevent Jessica and her family from being executed.

Enter police officer Bob Mooney (William H. Macy), who realizes after a slew of law breaking events committed by Ryan, like holding up a cell phone store to get a charger and paying for it, that a kidnapping has really taken place. The cop realizes that the guy in the police station claiming to have a kidnapping victim on the end of his cell phone was not a prankster. He sets out to help save the day, but has no idea what he is in for.

The movie gets crazy with some plot issues that will bother the analytical and intellectual types who go to this film. If you can look past some of the far-fetched distractions then this movie is a non-stop thrill ride. The story is simple, the movie is action packed with some twists and turns. It reminded us of the movie "SPEED" or "PHONE BOOTH".

We thought it was worth the trip and a great deal of fun.

Becky's Rating: *** Worth The Trip
John's Rating: *** Worth The Trip
