John & Becky's Movie Review Of "Suspect Zero"  Becky and I saw "Suspect Zero" last weekend and we were not expecting much based on the reviews we had read. The official "Suspect Zero" website can be viewed at http://www.suspectzero.com/ and has more details about the film, including information on "remote viewing" that is related to the movie.

The MovieFone website can be viewed at http://movies.channel.aol.com/movie/main.adp?mid=14947
describes the story as follows:

The Story
In this thriller, Thomas Mackelway (Aaron Eckhart), is an F.B.I. agent chasing a serial killer who appears to be hunting other serial killers, whose next target may be the F.B.I's most-wanted murderer. To find his quarry, Mackelway must discover the serial killer's connection to the Bureau and determine what sinister motives drive him.

The Review
Becky and I read a few reviews before going to the theater for this one and most of what we read was not kind to this film. We are both suckers for thrillers and we were expecting an over-the-top shock and horror film based on what we had read. I tried to talk Becky out of seeing the film because I thought it was going to be far too disturbing.

There are some crazy parts in the film, especially with a random serial killer who is capturing kids and keeping them in his freezer before burying them in his backyard. It's spooky to think about how many nuts are out there kidnapping children, which is what this movie is about. The movie tracks a number of serial killers with different profiles and targeting different types of people.

One of the lead characters (Ben Kingsley) refers to one of these killers that he is tracking as "Suspect Zero". The killer doesn't choose his victims in a normal serial killer pattern. He's like "a 50 foot shark" as he drives his semi-truck around the country and picks off his victims. Ben Kingsley is the vigilante serial killer who is tracking down and killing serial killers using his pyschic powers.

"Suspect Zero" is more like a heavy duty version of an X-Files episode than a pyschological thriller on the level of a "Seven" or "Silence of the Lambs". The lead characters have a psychic ability called "remote viewing" that allows them to place themselves in locations and see events transpire. It's pretty ridiculous, but manages to keep your interest as a murder mystery.

In addition to Ben Kingsley, the movie also has Carrie-Anne Moss, the woman who played Trinity in "The Matrix", and Aaron Eckhart as the troubled FBI agent. The acting was not bad, but at times the movie moved a bit slow with the remote viewing being a bit annoying.

Overall, we found the movie to be entertaining with enough suspense and mystery to keep you involved in the film.
