What if you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that everything you were aiming for in your life would absolutely happen? Would you relax a little bit more? Have more fun on a daily basis? Take more risks? I’d be willing to wager a bet that your answer would be yes. And I’d also be willing to bet that after awhile you’d become bored because there would be no challenge in your life and that can take the spark and excitement out of living.

Oh sure, there are some of you reading this right now thinking this woman is nuts, she’s lost her marbles! There’s no way I’d be bored or frustrated if I knew everything I ever wanted to have happen in my life would happen, I’d be on cloud nine! Well, that’s probably true from where you stand right now, especially if you’re presently in a situation that feels out of control, disempowering and helpless.

Nonetheless, I’ve decided to put myself out on a limb and trust that after a few months or years of day in and day out of knowing how things were going to turn out and not being challenged along the way, you’re going to get fed up and eventually desire a challenge that proves to you and the world what you’re made of; strength, intelligence, resilience, tenacity, integrity, inspiration, heart, determination, fortitude, steadfastness, do I need to go on? I think you get the picture.

Without the challenges along the way you don’t get to grow and see the person you’re capable of becoming, improving yourself each step of the way. You are here to travel each road you find yourself on, discovering all that you can along the way. When you decide that you’re going to do your very best to enjoy the journey, the journey becomes a little easier. With every road trip there are places to get out and stretch along the way, enjoy the view, take in some sites. Imagine how much more pleasant your life’s journey would be if you did those things from time to time and trusted that the more you let go of needing to get to the end of the trip by a certain time, the sooner you would reach your destination simply because when you get there, it is always the right time.

As long as you’re still breathing, there will always be a destination to get to, the road does not end. So why not enjoy the trip any chance you get. The more good feelings you create for yourself, the more the view expands and the more roads you have to choose from. Remember, each time you take a break, you never know what you might see or who you might meet along the way, that will change your course in the most remarkable way.
