You have to target the right keywords if you want your Internet Marketing Campaign to be successful.
1. Use phrases instead of single words. Most people use phrases in the search engines. In addition , single words cannot be promoted effectively because to many sites compete with you. Your keyword phrase should consist of 2-4 words.
2. Use relevant and targeted keyword phrases that are common enough that people actually search for them ,but unique enough so that they don’t return millions of matches.

Submit your keyword phrase. Remember,the higher the search results for the term ,the harder it will be for you to work towards your goal. A good number is about 1000-2000 searches a month.
After you have found a suitable keyword phrase, go to google,msn or yahoo,depending in what search engine you want to rank high and give your keywords in the search box. Visit the pages on the rankings 1-3. Once you are at their site,click view -source on your browser tab. Take a look at the keywords from your competitor and the overall design and source of their page.
Now here is one Internet Marketing Secret. You need to have many backlinks to your site , to see how many backlinks your competitors on Rank 1-3 has you need to do the following..
In the google search box type:
link:http://yourcompetitorsurl.com
Below the search box on the top right you will find something like this: Results 1-3 of about 480 linking to competitorsurl.com.
There you have it. The competitor has 480 Backlinks pointing to his website. What can you do to obtain the links? There are a couple ways to get good backlinks.
You can buy a software,which can be expensive but a good one I recommend is IBP8. Check their webpage to read about the features.
For the people who don't have alot of money to spend, there is another Internet Marketing Secret. Go to any major search engine. The easiest way to add your URL is the following:
inurl:yourkeywordphrase inurl:your+comment inurl:yourkeywordphrase inurl:add+url inurl:yourkeywordphrase inurl:directory
You should be able to submit your URL in the search results of the webpages or directory and they meet your keyword search term. A quick way to fill in forms with your url,description of your website etc. is roboform. It is a free software I recommend and it saves you alot of time. Make sure to get quality backlinks,you can check the Page Rank of a website at :
