It’ll come out on the day after the observance of Christ’s birthday. It’s a message from Satan.

It’s called “The Devil’s Rejects.” It’s a DVD put out by Momentum Pictures and written by Rob Zombie. The slasher-dasher is in follow through to his House of 100 Corpses.

It is planned specifically to counter the holy season celebrating the birth of the world’s Savior, Jesus. One more time, of course, in a spiritually fallen sphere, genuine Christians realize that existence on Earth is a soul battle. It is indeed a war between light and dark, right and wrong, God and Satan.

“The Devil’s Rejects” is the “all-out gore-drenched violence,” according to its promoters. It glorifies the power of #### in contrast to the angels’ song to the shepherds outside Bethlehem. It is meant to counter that which is “goodwill on earth” in order to propagate the evil bent in soul damaged mortals.

According to M&C News, the movie “reunites the homicidal Firefly clan (the anti-heroes of Zombie's debut feature, House of 1000 Corpses) in an intense and grisly splatterfest that the Daily Mirror hailed as ‘the first horror film in ages that actually delivers the goods’ and led The Sun to claim ‘will test the shockability levels of even the most hard-core gore fans… but as pure in-your-face horror you just have to love it.’"

When reading the Gospel records of Matthew and Luke, one comes upon the battle royal in the context of the birth of Jesus. In one particular passage, the reader scopes out Herod’s jealous rages when hearing that a King of the Jews has been birthed in his political territory.

Therefore, Herod sends forth his own demonic messengers. They go forth with blades in hand to cut up all babies two years of age and under. Herod the King is determined to see that no one comes upon his earthly throne. Therefore, the crazed brain, hearing of the kingly birth from the magi, demands that they inform him of where the child is. Since they do not do that, then Herod must slaughter all the babies in order to make certain he kills the one child meant to rule.

We of course can go back even further to the Book of Genesis where we read in the first human family that Cain slew Abel. So the work of Satan has a long, cruel history. Therefore, when “The Devil’s Rejects” appears at Christmastide, biblical students should not be at all shocked.

“Ambushed at their isolated home by Sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe) and a squad of armed men, the Firefly family wakes up one morning with guns blazing – yet only Otis (Bill Moseley) and his sister, Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), manage to escape the barrage of bullets unharmed.

“Hiding out in a backwater motel, the wanted siblings wait to rendezvous with their errant father, Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), gratuitously torturing and killing whoever happens to stand in their way. But as the body count mounts, Sheriff Wydell decides to take the law into his own hands, paving the way for one of the most depraved and terrifying showdowns in cinematic history.”

One can be certain that wherever the Lord is at work for peace and compassion, Satan is at work to unravel it all. However, true believers recall the words of Scripture: “The battle is the Lord’s.”
