Truston Announces Beta Version of Identity Theft Protection Service Santa Barbara, CA December 11, 2006 -- Truston today announced the availability of a free "beta" version of its myTruston™ service. MyTruston (http://www.mytruston.com) is a set of identity theft protection tools designed to help victims and aid in preventing ID theft.

MyTruston empowers individuals to detect and prevent identity theft by helping them inspect their credit files for suspicious activity. The service begins helping immediately by offering members a step-by-step process for dealing with identity theft -- for both prevention and recovery. The service also provides easy recovery from several types of identify theft. This free credit inspecting service eliminates the $150 annual costs associated with traditional credit monitoring services.

To ensure protection of personal information, myTruston also helps victims recover from ID theft without putting personal information -- name, address, social security number and other confidential data -- at risk. Using myTruston, an email address is the only personally identifiable information required to begin the recovery process, whereas other recovery services go so far as requiring the user to sign over power of attorney.
