About ACE and the BlueSky Festival 2005
The Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) was formed in 2003. It is a movement that involves both the private and public sectors to create a more entrepreneurial environment in Singapore. ACE seeks to be a change agent in building a more pro-enterprise environment through the facilitation of discussion, debate and recommendations on the regulatory framework; changing culture and mindset; improving access to finance and facilitating networking.
ACE is chaired by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, who is the Minister in charge of entrepreneurship. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan is also Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and 2nd Minister for Trade and Industry.
The inaugural BlueSky Festival held last year was a resounding success with participation from all levels of enterprise. Continuing its effort in the catalyzing and cascading the entrepreneurship movement, ACE together with its partner agencies is organizing the next BlueSky Festival in July 2005 to celebrate and showcase the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Days 3 & 4: Saturday & Sunday, 16-17 July 2005, 11 am to 6.30 pm
BlueSky Carnival - Suntec Hall 404
The Carnival is the culmination of the BlueSky Festival and is targeted at the community at large. Hence, the focus is on bringing out the fun, learning, networking and adventure traits of entrepreneurship in the Carnival. We want participants – exhibitors, entrepreneurs and the general public – to experience first hand the strong entrepreneurial spirit in the community and perhaps even be motivated to be part of it.
There are 5 main segments to the Carnival:
1. Entrepreneurs’ Platform
This will be the heart of the buzz at the Carnival. This will be where entrepreneurs will test out the possible commercialization of their products and services and put their entrepreneurial skills to work for them. Budding entrepreneurs, student businesses and start ups will be the key participants at this platform.
2. Social Enterprise
This is where we profile a different breed of entrepreneurs – Social entrepreneurs. They entrepreneurs who combine the passion of a social mission with business oriented discipline and innovation. Giving back to society is their ultimate goal. We want to create awareness on such social enterprise efforts – business with a heart.
3. Created in Singapore Showcase
This will be the showcase of ideas, innovations and inventions that are created in Singapore, with a global potential. We want to bring across the message that creativity is indeed very much alive in Singapore.
4. Clinic Sessions
With the positioning of the Carnival as a testing ground for new entrepreneurs, a clinic session would be made available to counsel them on their business plans or issues. This would be in the form of pre-registered one-to-one sessions and will be conducted at the Carnival itself.
5. Entertainment
Throughout the two days, there will be a running line-up of interesting activities to involve the public and let them experience the true spirit of entrepreneurship.
