New York City, August 19, 2005; For over 15 years Daddy Yankee has been a force to be reckoned with in the Latin music scene. The love of his culture to his carefully crafted socially consious lyrics have been a force and a major influence in the Reggeaton genre, no longer considered a movement . Many of his songs remain in the club scene and are considered HOT Reggaeton classics.

From recording and colloborating with one of the hottest hip/hop-R&B artist NAS, to sharing ideas with DJ Tony Touch this reggeaton artist has sure made a mark for himself not only with the Latin market but with the Anglo hip/hop market as well.

He has had platinum status with 3 prior albums and in 2002 had the biggest selling Reggeaton album titled "El Cangri.com" prompting the Billboard award for biggest selling album. If that wasn’t enough his last album released in 2003 "Home-Runes" reached record breaking sales which prompted a full house concert with over 12,000 screaming fans dancing to their Daddy’s tunes in the historic Roberto Clemente Coliseum in Puerto Rico.

In July, Daddy Yankee released by far one of the most completed albums in his career, "Barrio Fino". Showing his love and loyalty to the delicious sounds of Salsa he was able to colloborate with one of the most influential salsa artist around, Andy Montanez on the title track "Melao".

"Barrio Fino" debuted on the Billboard Latin album chart at #1 making history as the first Reggeaton album to ever reach the #1 spot and on the Billboard top 200 charts he debuted at #67. With "Barrio Fino" released in less than 4 weeks he has already sold over 197,000.

He will be in New York from August 17 - August 22nd promoting his new album ‘Barrio Fino" and performing LIVE for TV performance on August 19 at Club Capitale for a TV broadcast on Univision/Telefutura. On August 24th he’ll in Miami recording and colloborating with Rapper Noriega for his upcoming album to be released later this year under the Rockefella/Def-Jam label. Other artist participating in the recording of the single and video are Nina Sky and Big Mato on the single "Oye Mi Canto".
