International Security Expert from RSA Security Selected to Join European Network and Information Security AgencyRSA Security Inc. ( Nasdaq: RSAS ) announced today that Magnus Nyström, technical director, Office of the CTO, has been selected from hundreds of applicants by the European Network and Information Security Agency ( ENISA ) to provide guidance and expertise for its Permanent Stakeholders’ Group.
Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Nyström – a leading authority on information security, and inventor and academic – will provide counsel to help ENISA in the establishment of its work programme, and maintain ongoing dialogue with the private sector, consumer organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.

“As a Member of the Management Board of ENISA I am pleased to have Magnus as a member of the PSG,” said Fredrik Sand, Deputy Director of the Division for Information Technology, Research and Development, in the Ministry of Industry, Research and Development in Sweden. “Magnus will bring to ENISA technical expertise, research work, and business knowledge from his years of experience at information security.”

Nyström is uniquely qualified for the post as an international expert on security architectures and cryptographic protocols, working group co-chair within the IETF, and architect of RSA Security solutions. In addition, he has also published numerous academic papers on security and cryptography, been involved in the development of several standards including PKCS, and has filed several patent applications in the area of authentication and access control.

“I look forward to working with Andrea Pirotti and ENISA staff as well as other members of the PSG to develop a culture of security here in Europe that will protect users in cyberspace and enable the next round of innovation on the Internet,” said Nystrom. “I am honored to have this opportunity to contribute to ENISA in its early stage of development.”
