Asuret Annouces Beta Program for Implementation Risk Analysis ServiceAccording to analysts, more than 30% of enterprise software implementations suffer major delays or cost overruns, or are simply abandoned as failures. To help software customers protect the expected ROI of their implementation plans, a Boston-based consulting company is about to launch a new risk-analysis service that rigorously analyzes the vulnerabilities that cause most projects to fail.
“Most companies pay close attention to the technical side of implementing large-scale software projects, but technology glitches rarely cause major meltdowns,” notes Asuret president Michael Krigsman. “The biggest problems are almost always the result of shortcomings in business processes, management oversight, and end-user involvement.”
Asuret has developed a specialized risk-analysis methodology for identifying and measuring 46 key vulnerabilities in enterprise software rollouts, Krigsman says. The IT Rapid Risk Assessment service uses proprietary tools to collect and analyze information from project stakeholders, and includes a one-day discussion workshop to focus on risk-reduction tactics related to key vulnerabilities.
Krigsman says the Asuret service is especially valuable for creating a consensus about risk priorities among project participants. “In theory, every project faces dozens of risks,” he notes. “The challenging problem is to isolate and prioritize those specific risks that seriously threaten the success of the project. That's been a major goal for us in developing this service.”
“We're ready to work with live clients, but we'd like to try a few 'dress rehearsals' before launching the full service,” Krigsman adds. “And we've priced these beta engagements very aggressively at $2,500 -- well below our regular $20,000 fee.”
The beta program is open on a first-come basis to any company or organization that is about to deploy a commercial enterprise software application whose total project budget ( license fees plus services ) is at least $400,000.
